Sasha has lived in Ottawa for two(2) years, after relocating from Saskatchewan where she lived and worked for six (6) years. She is originally from Jamaica and has lived in Canada since 2015.
Sasha is a mom and wife, who has had a successful career as a journalist. She is an award-winning journalist who enjoys telling stories that highlight socio-economic issues that affect people from all walks of life. Sasha also helps community organizations in building their brand awareness.
 
She has worked in mainstream media - radio, digital media, print media and has done a lot of investigative journalism over the years.
She still practices journalism which remains a passion but now works full-time as a communications specialist for a non-profit organization in Ottawa.
She also volunteers with different organizations including: being a board member and committee chair at her son’s daycare and helping small businesses.
 
Currently, she has added “author” to her range of accomplishments, working with Lucky Book Publishing and just releasing her first book “Finding Your Network: Navigating Change and Re-discovering Self.” This book documents her journey as she relocated to Ottawa, capturing challenges that accompanied this major change, while offering some important life lessons on how to navigate major changes and re-discovering one’s self. She zones in specifically on her journey in navigating a new job market and applying practical ways of re-integrating in a new environment. She hopes to continue on her journey of self re-discovery and help others do the same on whatever journey they find themselves.
